When it comes to home-style rustic charm, Can Mirador has it in spades – and with more than a little luxury, too. Like most in Deia, this beautiful townhouse was built from the local honey-hued stone, which glows orange in a certain light. Inside, hand-baked terracotta floor tiling throughout most of the house adds to the bucolic character, together with chunky wooden furnishings and wood beam ceilings. Interiors are finished in a warm-yet-modern take on traditional Mallorcan decor, while an open-plan lounge, kitchen and breakfast room offer lovely views through picture windows.
And for broader views over the village and dramatic surroundings, you just need to step out onto one of two terraces. From the pebble-studded patio you can soak up a 180-degree panorama stretching from a triangle of sea to the spectacular pine-clad mountains. A second sun terrace also has an infinity pool lined with dark-blue mosaic tiles, from where you can gaze over the scenery while you cool down on hot summer days.
When you emerge from the L-shaped infinity pool, you’ll find a pair of circular rattan sun beds to flop on. Alternatively, you can escape the sun’s rays under the dappled shade of an olive tree – also a lovely spot for a lingering alfresco lunch. The villa’s kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals, with a breakfast area that extends to another small terrace. A big dining table is also the perfect setting for sea-view dinners. On cooler evenings, there’s a snug lounge with central heating, a sink-into sofa and smart TV.
The villa has four bedrooms sleeping up to eight guests. Each is individually styled, with a mix of updated traditional styling with touches of boho-chic. The master bedroom features a wooden four-poster bed and an open fireplace, while French doors look out over the pool terrace and mountains beyond. This room also benefits from impressive bathroom facilities that include twin sinks with vintage mirrors and a deep freestanding stone bath.
