Scarcely a minutes’ stroll from the coastal path, you can’t get much closer to the sea than a stay at this beachside villa. It’s located in the peaceful neighbourhood of Cala Martina on the island’s west coast, within easy walking distance from several small bays and the local beach club. The property itself is an immaculate blend of Balearic chic and holiday-friendly features where you can spend afternoons lazing poolside before heading upstairs to sip sundowners from the sea-view rooftop terrace.
The Design
Completed in 2016, this stylish five-bedroom villa was built with a 21st-century take on traditional island architecture. Sharp, clean-lined design combines with walls of honey-toned local stone and black-frame windows to eye-pleasing effect. Inside it follows a minimalist-chic aesthetic, where polished concrete flooring and light-filled interiors complement a palette of soothing hues, natural fabrics and pops of colour.
You enter directly into the main open-plan living area combining kitchen, lounge and large dining table for ten. From here sliding glass doors open out to an alfresco dining area and a sun-drenched terrace with sleek swimming pool. Surrounding palms, banana trees and tall hedges give the gardens a secluded feel. Upstairs you’ll find another sunny terrace, complete with lounge seating and glass panelling to let you soak up the fabulous views over the nearby water.
The Details
One highlight of the villa is certainly its 60-square-metre, L-shaped swimming pool, which has built-in ledge seating. The water is salt-filtered, there’s a wood-decked outdoor shower, and you’ll find eight sun loungers to flop onto. Grab the portable Bluetooth speaker and you can add instant poolside summer vibes. A coal barbecue is on hand if you fancy some outside grilling, too, while the kitchen has everything you’ll need for any kind of meal, plus a filtered water tap and a big fridge-freezer with an ice machine.
Accommodating up to ten guests, the villa has five double rooms, four on the ground floor and two which can be made into twins. All are bright and airy with their own ensuite bathroom with walk-in rainfall shower. Upstairs is the huge master bedroom with direct access to a sea-view balcony.
Larger groups also have the option of renting the neighbouring four-bedroom property, Casa Playa.
