This grand, hacienda-style residence has been passed down through the same family for more than 50 years. In typical Ibiza-style, its thick whitewashed walls gleam in the Balearic sunshine, with its numerous spaces connected by elegant arches and broad terraces. Traditional wood-slat shutters combine with chunky carved timber doors and handmade terracotta tiles for an abundance of rustic charm throughout. There’s a welcoming homeliness to the villa, too, with country-style furnishings mingling with sabina wood details and a calming palette of earthy tones.
Set in over seven hectares of land, the outside space here is as expansive as it is enchanting. Mature gardens are scattered with soaring cypress trees, brightly-coloured potted flowers and scented lavender, while beyond rows of orange trees hang heavy with fruit for much of the year. And it’s all landscaped to give you the feeling of total privacy, while also allowing views out to the distant rolling hills on the horizon. It all really does add up to quite the rural island idyll.
Lined by a trio of cypress trees is the villa’s main pool, with 14 metres of cooling water surrounded by a terracotta terrace and plenty of cushioned loungers. There’s even a second 8-metre pool with a shallow end, perfect for the kids to splash about in. Another terrace next to the house features a big built-in barbecue with bar seating and dining space for up to 20 guests. Indoors you’ll find a charming, country-style galley kitchen, fully equipped with everything you’ll need, including a Nespresso machine and filtered water tap.
A circular Mongolian yurt provides a wonderfully unusual addition to the grounds, and a great spot for anything from massage treatment to yoga or meditation. There’s a separate yoga deck, too, as well as a tennis court if you’re feeling more active. A portable Sonos sound system also means music both indoors and around the gardens.
The villa has six double bedrooms sleeping up to 12 guests, four on the ground floor and two on the first. A lovely spacious master suite has dual-aspect windows and double French doors that open to its own terrace with views across the countryside. All rooms are air-conditioned and provide a sound night’s sleep in king-size beds with top quality linens.
