Upon arrival by boat and a warm welcome from in-house staff, you realise right away Ccoc Island is somewhere with a real touch of magic. Firstly, it occupies its own private islet surrounded on all sides with shimmering crystal-clear waters. The various buildings and spaces together have the appearance of a mini village, with the main three-story villa topped with a traditional thatched roof and clad in natural stone. Inside and out, earthy and terracotta tones combine with pastel pinks, purples and reds that mimic the fiery sunsets you’re sure to gaze out over during your stay.
All seven bedrooms are directly sea-facing, with lavish sunrise and sunset master suites on the top floor, plus various reading corners and dining areas in the main house. During the day, there’s a sandy beach area to chill out on complete with loungers and parasols, together with various wood deck terraces from which you can dive directly into the inviting Caribbean Sea and snorkel among its kaleidoscopic sea life.
You’ll find numerous cosy and secluded nooks and spots around the property where you can relax with a book, play board games or indulge in an afternoon hammock siesta. For enjoying time together, a lunch terrace juts out over the waters with space for everyone, while an onsite bar adds a private members club vibe and comes complete with a sound system and staff at the ready to mix cocktails – including the signature ‘Mambo Mezcal’ or the ‘Cala Colada’.
Two jetties are also set up with lounging furniture, from where you can arrange local boats to ferry you around the islands. There’s a TV room, too, with a smart hub and WiFi is available throughout the island. All bedrooms are air conditioned and have private bathrooms with rainfall showers and organic amenities by premium Colombian brand Casa Ciclo.
