“…awash with vibrant colours and cool quirky design, from its fuchsia-pink tower to an eclectic collection of unique sculptures, artworks and vintage furnishings.”
Set high up overlooking the picturesque Careyes coast, this luxury cliff-top villa is positively brimming with character. Together with its distinctive sense of style and fun, it offers an impressive choice of spaces to unwind, from lofty palapas to a gorgeous sea-view infinity pool. It’s fully staffed, too, with everyone from a chef to a butler, poised to bring you chilled poolside margaritas. And when you’re ready to leave your lounger, you even have your own private captain on hand with a boat to explore this stunning stretch of the Pacific.
The Design
When you combine the talents of renowned architect Diego Villaseñor, eminent landscape artist Eric Nagelmann and an art-loving Franco-American designer couple (the owners) it’s no wonder the result is a villa as extraordinary as Casa Rosita. The characterful house is awash with vibrant colours and cool quirky design, from its fuchsia-pink tower to its eclectic collection of unique sculptures, artworks and vintage furnishings. Lines flow and gently curve with an organic elegance, while artfully planted gardens brim with cacti, palm trees and numerous other native flora. A tinkling fountain feeds a pond scattered with flowering water lilies.
The property is made up of a cluster of structures that includes a series of thatch-roof palapas, the largest of which is a lofty seven metres tall. Living spaces are wonderfully open and inviting, with numerous comfy corners and terraces to socialise or relax. The design makes the most of its elevated cliff-top setting, too, with numerous vantage points from which to gaze over breathtaking views of Playa Rosa, the lush coastline and the shimmering Pacific Ocean.
The Details
Certainly one of the best spots to soak up the vistas is the villa’s superb infinity pool with its stylishly rounded corners. Comfy cushioned loungers wait for poolside lounging under parasols. A Sonos music system also means you can chill out to your vacation playlists while you flop. Stairs wind down to a private beach where the villa’s own 24-foot Boston Whaler boat with a captain awaits for fishing excursions or visits to other secluded beaches along the coast.
Each of the five bedrooms is wonderfully bright and spacious, with king-size beds with luxury Frette sheets and ensuite bathrooms with soaking tubs and rainfall showers. All have terraces, too, from where you can enjoy those stunning panoramas. Mid-century vintage Acapulco chairs, with a rainbow-coloured makeover by artist Mariló Carral, feature in each room, too, together with stylish beach bags and sun hats. You’ll also find a TV room in the villa (which can be converted into an extra bedroom) plus free high-speed fibre optic internet.
