With its mix of rustic and exotic furnishings, warm welcoming vibe, and eclectic art collection, Can Lrya certainly isn’t your average holiday villa. As soon as you set foot inside, you get the feeling it’s a much-loved family home. Plenty of the original rustic features of this beautifully restored finca are still on display, too, like thick walls, terracotta flooring and sabina wood beams. Head upstairs and you’re also treated to a strip of shimmering blue sea.
From the garden you get to appreciate the villa’s whitewashed architecture, a fine example of traditional Ibiza-style design brought up-to-date with big windows that allow in plenty of sunshine. At around 18,000 square metres, the outside space is huge, too, with a suitably large swimming pool surrounded by terracotta tiles and Mediterranean gardens. Thanks to tall trees and surrounding shrubbery, it all feels wonderfully secluded, plus you can still see the lush hillside nearby rearing up right next to the property.
The salt-filtered swimming pool that sits in the middle of the grounds is 17 by 7.5 metres, so more than long enough for a decent swim. There’s also a separate kids’ pool close by. Poolside lounging is well catered for, too, with sunbeds and a corner lounge with dappled shade. Also outside is a pergola with bar, fridge, gas barbecue and dining area for big alfresco lunches or dinners. The finca has its own vegetable patch where you’re free to pick homegrown produce.
There’s a modern fully-equipped kitchen inside, complete with all the appliances you’ll need, plus Nespresso machine and filtered water on tap. A Sonos sound system is also set up with speakers throughout the house that you can control via a phone app. The snug lounge also features a two-way fireplace for cosy nights in, and underfloor heating is great for winter stays.
The villa’s five bedrooms are split between three in the main building and two in the adjacent guesthouse. The top floor master suite is accessed via a stone staircase and includes an ensuite bathroom with shower and tub, plus sea views over Santa Eulalia. A quadruple room has two double beds, ideal for families with children.
