“Garden paths are flanked by fragrant clusters of lavender and rosemary, while scented citrus and ancient olive trees dot gently tiered terraces.”

With its scenic garden within eyeshot of the sea and barely 10 minutes from Ibiza Town, and even less to the marina, this former farmstead certainly scores high on setting. A stroll down a scenic footpath also takes you to S’estanyol Beach, complete with charming Cala Bonita chiringuito and a secluded cove. An abundance of flora-filled outside space really makes the villa shine, too, while adding all the top-end comforts you’d expect from a luxury-level stay in Ibiza.

The Design

Few luxury villas on Ibiza showcase the island’s outstanding natural beauty quite like Can Flores – while still being within easy striking distance of Ibiza Town. Most of its 3,500-square-metre plot has been carefully landscaped into a wonderland of Mediterranean flora. Garden paths are flanked by fragrant clusters of lavender and rosemary, while scented citrus and ancient olive trees dot gently tiered terraces. It’s a rather magical scene, and all within eyeshot of a strip of shimmering Mediterranean Sea.

Once little more than a derelict ruin, the old finca has been beautifully restored in keeping with traditional island architecture – a low-rise series of soft-edge cuboids that flow elegantly into each other. Pine beams and reclaimed timber bring some of the rustic farmhouse back to life, while polished concrete floors and Crittall doors dressed with linen add contemporary style. Interiors throughout have been designed and decorated with a carefully considered, yet subtle combination of top-quality touches like handwoven rugs and original artworks. Even by Ibiza standards, it really is quite the understated stunner.

The Details

Life here is meant to be lived outdoors, and there’s no shortage of places to do just that. The villa’s centrepiece is its lovely swimming pool, long enough for morning laps or just families floating about in the sunshine; it can also be heated if you need to take the chill off over cooler months. Poolside you even have your own ‘beach’ if you want to feel sand between your toes, or there’s a wood-decked marquee with space for both lounging and dining. There’s a big circular trampoline here, too, perfect for when the kids want to let off some steam.

At the heart of things is the kitchen, a charming modern-rustic space kitted out with a cornucopia of appliances, from Nespresso machine and juicer to Lacanche oven and SubZero fridge-freezer. The kitchen connects directly to a covered outdoor dining table seating up to 12, plus there’s an outside barbecue area next to the marquee. A cosy lounge indoors offers the chance to curl up on the sofa with a movie and log fire.
The villa has just three bedrooms, sleeping up to six in total. Each is bright and simply styled, with top-quality bedding and snazzy touches like vintage-style Marshall speakers and premium Bamford toiletries. One room offers fabulous in-built bunk beds that kids will love. Extra staff accommodation is also available on request.

LOCATION

  • 1
    maven-collection-ibiza-restaurant-the_fish_shack

    Fish Shack

Lo-fi, hi-vibe seashore staple that’s an absolute must for Ibiza’s insider crowd. Perched atop the rocks of Talamanca’s salt-whipped shoreline, the Fish Shack is a go-to for grilled seafood fresh from the fishing boat alongside simple steamd potatoes and a rustic campo salad. Perfection.

  • 2
    Cala Bonita

    Restaurant Cala Bonita

Its terrace, facing the sea, is one of the biggest attractions here as well as its Mediterranean style and simple and stimulating gastronomy. Cala Bonita has a prestigious chef every summer to prepare its dishes, always with ingredients mostly from Ibiza. The rice dishes stand out –which can be ordered individually, something unusual in the summer tourist offer–, fish and shellfish prepared on the grill or grilled, most of the catch of the day.

    JUNTOS HOUSE + BOUTIQUE

From ancient finca to farm-to-table marvel, Juntos founder Sophie
Daunais’ transformation of San Mateo’s former Can Cirés has been
deft and subtle. Working with, rather than against, the building’s
innate quirks, Sophie has created a hip yet deeply inviting space that
fuses her threefold passions of sustainability, hospitality and
community. From the twinkly terrace restaurant to the eco-
conscious boutique to the candlelit speakeasy, Juntos House is an
ode to its owner’s vision, imagination and reverence for the island’s
    history.

    CALAOLIVERA

    CALA OLIVERA

This is a remote spot, surrounded by woods and hardly visited. The sand is coarse and the sea floor is rather rocky. But if what you look for is peace, this is your place. There is no beach-bar and the nearest populated area is the development at Roca Llisa. You can also bathe at the neighbouring Cala d’Espart, a rocky area with a number of fishing huts.
