Completed in 2017, it took three years of top-spec renovation by renowned island architect Rolf Blakstad to transform this property into one of Ibiza’s finest luxury villas. And the result is genuinely extraordinary. A large entrance patio with a black marble pond instantly creates a sense of drama on arrival, ushering guests through the front door of this 21st-century take on a traditional Ibiza-style mansion. Stepping directly into the principal living area, the quality of the property is instantly evident. Within its stylishly monochrome interiors is a roll-call of beautiful European designer furniture from the likes of Ligne Roset, Bonaldo Italy, Vitra, B&B, Minotti, Riva 1922 and Heerenhuis.
Cream-white natural stone floor is used throughout all indoor and outdoor areas, uniting the different zones and creating one huge living space. And the outside is as spectacular as the interior, comprising over 5,000 square metres of terraces, comfy seating areas, and entertaining spaces. Amongst it all, lush subtropical gardens are scattered with soaring palms, banana plants and colourful flowers, while honey-hued stone walls skirt swathes of manicured lawn.
And topping it all is the view. Whether it’s being framed by huge sliding glass doors or by big floor-to-ceiling windows, the broad vistas along the nearby coast are truly stunning. What’s more, when night falls, hundreds of carefully placed lights illuminate and highlight signature plants and architectural forms to fabulously theatrical effect – all controllable at the touch of a tablet.
It’s easy to picture sunning yourself by the stunning freeform swimming pool. Its 17m x 7 metres puts it amongst the island’s largest, and includes an integrated jacuzzi and relaxing waterfall feature. Shallow entry points make for easy spots for a quick dip, while the deeper water is ideal for a swim. Take your pick from sun loungers, single or double daybeds for poolside chilling – a Bang and Olufsen 30-speaker sound system can add holiday vibe wherever you are.
Inside, a top-of-the-range Bulthaup B3 kitchen is finished with quartz worktops, Gaggenau appliances, and even a Teppanyaki cooktop. A huge picture window means you can enjoy the views while you cook, too. Of course you can cook outside as well, with a Jokodomus outdoor kitchen and gas barbecue. Outdoor dining for up to 24 guests takes the form of a long Japanese-style sunken table.
Most of the villa’s six bedrooms are located on the ground floor, each with direct access to different pool terrace areas and all but one have an ensuite bathroom. Blackout shutters and quality bed clothes aid a good night’s slumber. Upstairs the master suite takes it to the next level, with Italian-designed walk-in dressing room, huge bathroom with Philippe Starck fixture, and vast sun terrace with views as far as Formentera.
