This two-floor, air-conditioned villa follows the beach-chic design styling of its surrounding siblings. Upcycled wooden doors open into a double-height reception dappled with coloured light from a long custom-made glass window. At your feet are traditional patterned tiles handmade in Merida. From here the space flows directly into the main living area, with its open-plan seating, kitchen and dining area with big wood-slab table. All around large windows flood the space with sunlight while giving glimpses of the lush coastal-jungle setting and the occasional tropical bird flitting by.
A staircase lined with recovered wood railings leads up to two of the bedrooms. Both of these rooms extend to their own private jungle-view balcony, while the master features a king-size bed and in-room vanity. Further charming design details throughout the property include salvaged wood beams and quirky coloured glass in the ceiling that create glowing coloured light. It all combines for a wonderfully characterful, and very liveable, space to spend an unforgettable holiday.
Combined with all this rustic-beach-chic are lots of luxe-level touches. All bedrooms boast custom woven lighting and beds topped with bedcovers made by Oaxacan artisans. Ensuite bathrooms in each of the three rooms also have custom-made showers stocked with organic toiletries made from sacred Mayan honey. In the well-equipped kitchen, you’ll find a Nespresso coffee machine for your morning caffeine fix and a blender for whizzing up smoothies or cocktails, too. There’s also an online groceries service that delivers right to your door, plus the complex has a resident chef to cook you up delicious Mexican meals. There’s a breakfast and taco bar a short stroll away, too, as well as a private kitchen on the beach, perfect for chilled drinks and snack prep.
This villa is also right next to the complex’s shared, guests-only freeform swimming pool – leave your doors open to enjoy the tinkling sound of gently cascading water. If you’re keen to hit the water, you can borrow sea kayaks, paddle-boards and boogie boards. For the more spiritually-inclined, yoga and sound healing sessions take place in the yoga studio or off-site in a private cenote. Wifi in the villa is also free and fibre-optic quality.
