“Ancient olive trees provide dappled shade on wood-decked terraces while bougainvillea splash their vibrant hues against concrete facades.”

This impressive piece of industrial-chic meets Ibiza-boho is located amongst the scenic San Lorenzo countryside in the centre of the island. You’re just a quick 10 minute drive from the buzz and beaches of Santa Eularia, and 15 minutes from the rugged cove-studded northern coast. But first you have plenty to explore at Casa Valentina, in its airy sun-filled spaces and extensive landscaped gardens. It’s an extraordinary luxury villa that combines world-class design with family-friendly features and everything you’ll need for a perfect Ibiza escape.

The Design

Behind the distinctive and remarkable architectural design of this remarkable villa was Jaime Romano, a celebrated Ibiza-based architect who drew inspiration from clean-lined Californian minimalism. The 600-square-metre, low-rise property has a semi-industrial feel, with the extensive use of concrete – both floor and ceiling – together with black columns, wood panelling and wide open spaces. The interior design  complements the austere aesthetic with a monochrome palette while enlivening it with bohemian flourishes and warm natural materials. Huge sliding glass panels flood the interiors with sunlight, as well as opening to invite the outside in and vice versa, breaking down the boundaries of both.

And the outside space is equally impressive, made up of swathes of manicured lawns skirted by fields of lavender and other scented Mediterranean flora. Ancient olive trees provide dappled shade on wood-decked terraces while bougainvillea splash their vibrant hues against concrete facades. The extensive grounds are also surrounded by countryside and farmland, affording views to the neighbouring pine-covered hills. The result is a gloriously spacious and open environment, in which villa and gardens coexist in complete harmony.

The Details

Just across from the lawn sits an 18-metre-long swimming pool of inviting water, which can be heated over chillier months. Flop onto plump poolside loungers or daybeds, or head under the shady pergola and outside lounge area. There’s a summer kitchen here, too, complete with barbecue and lots of space for lingering lunches or dinner under the stars. A smart indoor kitchen comes equipped with everything from coffee machines to a dedicated wine fridge.

There’s an outdoor gym, if the need takes you, while a children’s play area and mini football pitch means the little ones can burn off some energy too. Less energetic recreation comes in the form of a cinema room with satellite television. You also have use of a top-quality sound system to set the mood inside or out.

The villa sleeps up to 10 guests across five bedrooms, one of which is in a separate annex. All have direct access to the garden, and some with furnished terraces. The two master bedrooms have king-size beds and ensuite bathrooms with showers and big soaking tubs.
