This elegantly designed, four-bedroom luxury villa was built to make the most of both the wonderful Ibiza sunshine and its superb island views. Its Sa Caleta setting is within eyeshot of the famous Ses Salines salt flats and island of Formentera beyond – as well as being within easy reach of the Cala Jondal. Wonderfully sun-filled interiors connect with the outside space, with numerous spots to chill in and out of the shade. Whether it’s with family or a group of friends, Villa Luz has everything you need for a fabulously relaxing Balearic break.
The Design
Contrasting with this villa’s sleek contemporary design, a studded antique entrance opens directly into the villa’s main living area – an airy open-plan space flooded with sunshine from wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows. Everything about this property has been designed to take full advantage of the Mediterranean sunshine and the villa’s spectacular views over the nearby salt flats, iconic Ibiza Old Town and even across to Formentera. A central planet-filled atrium, jute rugs and warm wooden accents – including preserved logs and modern sculptures – artfully soften the minimalism for a more homely feel. Plush sofas, too, both indoors and out provide plenty of spots to relax, while a broad swathe of well-tended lawn means lots of space for children to run and play. A separate TV room also means the kids can have their own space while the grown ups kick back with a sundowner or two. If you need to sneak off for a spot of work, there’s even a dedicated office – though it’ll be hard not to get distracted by those superb vistas.
The Details
At the end of the garden and lined with palm trees you’ll find the shimmering white mosaic tile swimming pool. It’s long enough for a decent swim and with a shallow platform if you just want to splosh about or recline in the water to cool off. Sunbeds and parasols provide lazy poolside lounging, while if you’re feeling more energetic you can find a modern gym with sound system and wraparound glass walls looking out over forest.
A galley-style kitchen provides everything you’ll need for meal prep, plus a Nespresso machine and wine fridge. Reverse osmosis system means filtered drinking water straight from the tap. An outdoor dining area also comes with a built-in barbecue and plant-covered trellis, and the ideal spot for lingering lunches or dinners on balmy Balearic evenings.
Three of the four bedrooms have direct access to the garden, while the upper-floor master suite extends to a long terrace. Each has its own smart contemporary bathroom, with walk-in rainfall shower, with the master adding a soaking tub. Decor is tastefully understated Scandi-chic with top-quality linens and warm wooden touches.
