“…when you step inside the property and get the first glimpse of the superb sea-view panoramas, it’s instant wow-factor.”
Set in a leafy residential area on Mallorca’s east coast, just on the outskirts of the popular Cala Ratjada resort, this villa boasts a truly superb setting. You can exit a private gate and step almost right on to Son Moll beach – a lovely swathe of golden sand popular with families. From cooling garden pool to cosy fireplace lounge, the villa itself has everything you need for a wonderful holiday too. What’s more, while the seafront neighbourhood feels peaceful and secluded, you’re just a short stroll from the buzz and bustle of the nearby resort’s numerous restaurants, bars and beaches.
The Design
As the automatic gates shut slowly behind you and you pass along Villa Bella Mar’s long driveway surrounded by a huge garden, you immediately appreciate its sense of seclusion and serenity. And when you step inside the property and get the first glimpse of the superb sea-view panoramas, it’s instant wow-factor. This cosy Mediterranean-style home has been in the same family for generations, and the interiors mix traditional chunky wood and terracotta elements with clean contemporary design and bright sun-filled spaces.
Downstairs living areas, including a comfy lounge, kitchen and dining space, flow together, with large windows providing multiple vantage points over the manicured lawns garden and sea just beyond. First-line villas with direct beach access are very rare on Mallorca, and add a spacious plot of immaculate gardens scattered with swaying pines, and the result is really rather special.
The Details
While you can practically use the nearby sea as your private pool, the villa boasts a lovely pine-lined infinity-edge pool. It’s long enough for a good swim and with plenty of comfy sunloungers to flop onto afterwards. If you’re feeling active, there’s also use of a private clay tennis court and ping-pong table.
When you’re ready to cook, a modern kitchen comes with marble-topped island and top-range appliances. For alfresco eating, the wraparound exterior terrace has a barbecue, long dining table and comfy seating area. There’s a portable Bluetooth sound system, too, to set the mood with your favourite holiday playlists.
The villa has five bedrooms in all – four upstairs and one on the ground floor – sleeping up to 10 guests. Simple decor is a mix of crisp white fabrics, calming earth tones and the occasional antique piece. Two of the rooms have ensuite bathrooms finished in polished marble or contemporary tiling, and with walk-in showers or soaking tubs. Three upstairs bedrooms also open to a shared terrace, too, featuring those fabulous sea views.
