“Swathes of well-tended lawn skirt a varied collection of flora, from ancient olive trees to tall swaying palms, while rows of soaring cypress trees add to the feeling of serene seclusion.”

Located in the laid-back bohemian north of Ibiza, this villa balances family-friendly features and secluded setting with easy access to some superb island highlights. Several unspoilt coves and charming sleepy villages are just a short drive away, while the popular Can Curune restaurant is within easy strolling distance – a great spot to rub shoulders with the locals while sampling top island cooking.

The Design

Upon setting foot inside this villa, you can’t help but feel an immediate sense of calm. The soothing palette of whitewashed walls, natural stone and warm woods combines with aplomb for an inviting homely-yet-chic vibe. Microcement flooring also creates a cool counterbalance to the earthy tones and exotic touches scattered throughout the property.

The main house is set over one floor, including a large and well-equipped, sun-filled kitchen with dining table and a separate lounge with a log fire – perfect for snuggling in front of on cooler evenings. The central living space has big glass doors, too, allowing the summer breeze to enter and circulate, which also lead outside to the garden. A large, well-tended lawn skirts a varied collection of flora, from ancient olive trees to tall swaying palms, while rows of soaring cypress trees add a feeling of serene seclusion. It’s a wonderfully peaceful place to unwind with the sun on your face, surrounded by native flora and the occasional chirruping of birdlife.

The Details

The villa’s kidney-shaped swimming pool is a blissful spot to cool off in, before returning to your cushioned sun lounger – there are more than enough for everyone. A hammock and Bali bed also offer perfect opportunities for afternoon alfresco siestas. A sail provides shade over the outside dining area, which includes a poolside casita with summer kitchen and coal-fired barbecue. The outside space is also particularly well equipped for kids, too, with a climbing frame, football goal posts, and trampoline – and of course a huge lawn to run around on.

The villa’s five bedrooms are spread between the main house and a separate garden annex. They all continue in the style of airy and understated elegance, with a spacious master bedroom boasting its own terrace and ensuite bathroom with stone corner tub.

Extra accommodation can also be found in the garden annex.

    Es Cucons

The teeny terrace is packed with textural finds – think raffia-framed mirrors, woven placemats and traditional Ibicencan shoulder baskets. Indoors, the low-roofed interior is crammed with home décor, table linens, clothing, artwork and jewellery that adheres to a low-impact, small-batch manifesto. Owners Jaime and Barbara champion local makers where possible, so expect one-off ceramics and woodwork pieces that are handcrafted on the island as well as established brands like the breezy, bohemian, California-fave Free People
