Cooling off in the pool or stretching out on a shaded lounger, surrounded by fragrant gardens and forest views, you’ll easily find your moments of holiday bliss here.
The Design
The drive along a private access country lane sets the tone for your arrival at this blissfully secluded rural villa. Approaching the building you’re first presented with the traditional elegance of six stone arches that grace the building’s facade. The villa’s typical Ibicencan architecture is evident throughout, with its charming island geometry and crisp whitewashed walls splashed with striking pink bougainvillea.
This casa payesa or country house, has been lovingly restored by its owners, with the last update in 2021. Much of the home’s original rustic features have been carefully retained, from the sabina wood beams to handmade terracotta floor tiling, infusing the space with a sense of the past. Added to this is an understated combination of boho-chic, chunky wooden furnishings and breezy modern touches.
Stepping outside, you enter a wonderfully fragrant garden planted with the likes of orange, lemon and apricot trees, lavender bushes, rosemary and colourful birds of paradise flowers. It’s here you can really appreciate the bucolic serenity of the villa, from sun-drenched terraces with calming views over the surrounding pine woods and verdant hills beyond.
The Details
The swimming pool and terrace areas were also updated in 2021, providing a lovely contrast between swish contemporary styling and the ancient dry stone walls that surround them. The pool provides ample space for summer cooling, plus eight comfy cushioned loungers to flop onto afterwards. You’ll find various chill-out zones where you can relax around the grounds, including a bamboo-covered dining area or under the dappled shade of an ancient olive tree.
Indoors, a spacious kitchen is flooded with natural sunshine through ceiling skylights, and kitted out with top-range appliances like a Smeg cooker and Liebherr bio-fresh fridge-freezer. There’s dining space for up to eight here, too, ideal for breakfast or cosy dinners. You’ll also find a cosy lounge complete with a pair of large linen sofas, plus a smart TV comes with Netflix, Sky Movies and Sky Sports in all languages.
The villa’s four double bedrooms sleep up to eight guests, each with quality mattresses and soft bed linens suitable for hot summer or cool winter nights. Every room is air conditioned, too. The three bathrooms have been beautifully updated with microcement finish, brushed bronze and gold accessories, and a selection of onyx, marble and stone sinks; one features a huge tub for extra blissful soaking.
